Wendy started the Law Offices of Wendy Heller in 2008, following a 2 year break from law firm life working closely with Sam Nazarian at SBE. Previously, Wendy worked as an entertainment attorney at the law firms of Ziffren Brittenham and O'Melveny & Myers. Wendy's practice encompasses all aspects of the film, television, digital, virtual reality, and publishing businesses, including the representation of financiers, production companies, studios, distributors, foreign sales agencies, independent producers, actors, writers, authors, executives, and celebrity endorsers. She is licensed to practice in California.
A double Bruin and native Angeleno (other than a brief - and great - stint in New York), Wendy graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and received her law degree, magna cum laude, from UCLA School of Law, where she was awarded Order of the Coif. She remains involved in the UCLA community by serving on the Board of Advisors for the Ziffren Center for Media, Entertainment, Technology and Sports Law. When she's not working (well…she's always working), she loves her life, living in Los Angeles with her husband, Brett, and three children, Logan, Olivia, and James.
Bryan Pepper specializes in the representation of production companies, studios, financiers, and content creators in the film, television, and digital media industries. Prior to joining the firm in 2017, he worked at United Talent Agency for Jon Huddle in the Motion Picture Literary Department, followed by two years at Good Universe under former producer and current Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Chairman Joe Drake.
After earning his Bachelor of Science from Cornell University, Bryan worked in the financial services industries for JPMorgan Chase and Morgan Stanley before deciding to pursue his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School. He is a licensed attorney in New York, New Jersey, and California. Born in New York City and raised in northern New Jersey, he is an avid New York Mets, Jets, and Knicks fan.
Erica Schwartz graduated from Loyola Law School on the Dean’s Honor List in 2013 and received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from New York University in 2009. While at Loyola Law School, Erica was Senior Production Editor for the Loyola of Los Angeles Entertainment Law Review. Prior to joining the firm in 2018, Erica was a business affairs executive at WME, followed by almost two years as associate counsel at IMG and Endeavor Content. Erica is licensed to practice in California.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Erica loves food, television and movies and hanging out at home with her husband, Andrew and her dog, Buddy.
Madelyn Knaster hails from the San Francisco Bay Area. She earned her undergraduate degree with honors at the University of California, Davis, graduating Phi Beta Kappa. She received her law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law where she was a member of the Moot Court Intercollegiate Team, a Legal Research and Writing teaching assistant, and was Business Editor for the Journal of Business, Entrepreneurship and the Law. Madelyn interned with the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Madelyn next joined WME, working both in Los Angeles and New York City in the Television, Live Events and Corporate Divisions before joining the Law Offices of Wendy Heller in June 2018. Madelyn’s practice at the firm focuses on representing production companies, independent studios, financiers, writers, producers, and directors across a variety of transactional entertainment matters.
Jillian L. Waldron
Jillian L. Waldron represents independent production companies, studios, financiers, and content creators in film, television, and digital media. She specializes in the development and production of scripted and unscripted content at all budget levels. Jillian also advises on guild compliance and employment issues. She is licensed to practice in California.
Jillian graduated magna cum lade from Whittier Law School in 2015 and a received Bachelor of Arts in Communication from University of California, Santa Barbara in 2011. While at Whittier Law School, Jillian was a fellow of the Intellectual Property Law Center and a board member of the Intellectual Property Law Society and Entertainment and Sports Law Society. Outside of work, Jillian enjoys traveling and competitive lawn games.
Ashley Bryan graduated from Southwestern Law School’s SCALE program in 2017 and received a Bachelor of Science in Business from University of Redlands in 2015. While at Southwestern Law School, Ashley was a member of the Women’s Law Association. Prior to joining Law Offices of Wendy Heller in April 2018, Ashley interned in the Acquisitions and Co-Development Department at Lionsgate Entertainment. As a legal assistant, Ashley handles all administrative responsibilities at the firm. On her off-time Ashley enjoys reading, hiking and crafting.
